Microbiology Video Library:
Frequently Asked Questions

Having difficulty downloading the videos?
You may wish to consider buying the Microbiology Video Library CD.

What is the magnification of the organisms in the videos?
It is not possible to give an absolute magnification because this depends on the system on which you are viewing the videos. To get around this problem, I have indicated the approximate size of the original organisms in the accompanying notes.

Are the organisms in the videos speeded up/slowed down?
All the videos are in real time, unless otherwise indicated. This is how the organisms actually look down the microscope.

Can I mirror these videos on my webserver?
Sorry, no. All the material on this webserver is copyright, but you are welcome to link to any of our web pages. However, if you purchase the Microbiology Video Library CD, the licence allows you to access the videos via a local area network (LAN) or intranet (but not to place the videos on any form of public access network, e.g. bulletin board or the internet).

How can I include the movies in my PowerPoint presentations?

Can I use these videos for broadcasting/publication?
No, these videos are copyright.
